Sheffield

Sheffield is a city and metropolitan borough that lies in the county of south Yorkshire, on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It is ranked in the top ten biggest cities in England with a population of more than half a million. The city is surrounded with landscape and it is England’s greenest city, with two million trees and 250 parks and green spaces. It also enjoys five rivers that run through the city namely, Sheaf, Porter, Loxley, Rivelin, and Don.

The city has frequently been voted as one of the most affordable and friendliest cities in the UK with a vast diverse and welcoming community, attracting students from 150 countries worldwide. The city has vibrant mix of restaurants and bars, bakeries, food halls, and traditional pubs. Affordable world food and independent bars and restaurants are only a short walk away from student neighbourhoods.

Sheffield is home to two universities, the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. The University of Sheffield is a member of the UK’s prestigious Russell Group and offers world-class teaching. Sheffield Hallam University is renowned for its outstanding teaching quality and was awarded the University of the Year for Teaching Quality in the Sunday Times Good University Guide in its 2020 edition.
